INSTRUCTIONS FOR A PLEASANT STAY
604 St Placide Rang North
***Important***
I've been told that NO ONE reads the house rules... but I'm sure you will, because you're not in any ordinary tourist rental: you're in our family home. For everything to go smoothly, it's important to take the time to READ all the rules CAREFULLY.
We built this house with love and beautiful materials, and we thank you for respecting it as much as we love it!
Therefore:
The house is strictly non-smoking.
Smoking in the house will result in a $250 penalty.
No parties or pets allowed. Throughout your stay, do your bit for the environment and make yourself at home: Avoid overheating, leave the lights on, etc.
Excessive electricity consumption will result in additional costs proportional to the excess consumption (see daily breakdown from Hydro-Québec).
***Wood***
Please note that firewood is not provided at the property. If you would like some during your stay, we recommend purchasing it on the way. Here are some convenient locations where you can find them:

***Restrooms***
You are surrounded by nature, and we use a septic tank. To ensure proper operation:
1. Never flush: wipes, tampons, sanitary napkins, diapers, cotton swabs, dental floss, cigarette butts, or any other non-biodegradable waste.
2. Use toilet paper sparingly to avoid overloading the system.
3. Never pour chemicals or toxic products down the toilet, such as:
Oils, grease, or food scraps.
Household products/bleach.
Medicines or pharmaceuticals.
When in doubt, throw them in the trash.
Report any problems immediately (poor drainage, suspicious noises, or unusual odors) so we can take prompt action.
These guidelines are intended to protect the environment, maintain the septic tank in good condition, and ensure a pleasant stay for everyone. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!
***Spa***
To ensure a pleasant and safe experience for everyone, we ask that you respect the following rules when using the spa:
1. Hygiene
Shower is mandatory before each use to avoid introducing residue (creams, oils, etc. ) into the water.
Clean swimsuits are required.
Do not use the spa if you are covered in sand, mud, or other substances.
2. Safety
Access to the spa is strictly prohibited for children unaccompanied by an adult.
Do not dive or jump into the spa.
Avoid long sessions: a 15- to 20-minute soak is recommended to prevent discomfort.
If you are pregnant, have a heart condition, or have a medical condition, please consult a physician before use.
3. Use
Spa Cover: Replace the cover after each use to maintain the temperature and preserve water quality.
Never walk or sit on the cover.
Keep the water clean: Do not introduce food, drinks, glass, or any foreign objects into the spa.
4. Maintenance and Responsibility
If you notice a problem (abnormal temperature, leak, unusual noise), notify us immediately.
In case of misuse or damage to the spa, cleaning or repair costs may be charged.
Renters are responsible for proper use and compliance with instructions.
***Waste***
To help respect the environment, we encourage you to sort your waste using the bins in the kitchen drawers and the containers outside the house.
Here's how to proceed, according to the MRC's guidelines:
Brown Bin (compost): Place kitchen scraps, paper, and soiled cardboard in this bin.
Blue Bin (recycling): Use this bin for containers, packaging, and printed items made of paper, cardboard, metal, glass, or plastic with a logo. Green bin (waste): No kitchen waste should be placed in this bin. This bin is reserved for waste that cannot be composted or recycled, such as plastic without a logo, mixed materials, and other items.
Please follow these instructions for efficient sorting.
***Departure***
Upon your departure:
1- Make sure to turn off all lights
2- Place your household waste in the containers outside
3- Make sure to leave the fridge and dishes clean, and do not leave
Thank you !!!
