Description

The Marchand covered bridge was built in 1898 by Augustus Brown of Beachburg. At the time, it provided a link between the lumber camps and the village of Fort-Coulonge. Supported by six wooden posts, the bridge spans 153 meters. It is the longest covered bridge in the province. Built entirely of pine, this one-way bridge was covered to prevent deterioration. This bridge adds charm to the picturesque Coulonge River. Admire its beauty by day and its illumination by night!
