A self-taught woodcarver, Louis-Émile Beauregard was born and raised in Dudswell. It was at the age of 55, in 1978, that he began his collection of wooden models depicting scenes of rural life from the 1920s to the 1940s. His legacy is an impressive body of work of extraordinary precision, comprising 64 models, all to scale. The artist devoted between 40 and 500 hours to each work.
