The René Richard centenary house is dedicated to the famous painter René Richard, who created beautiful landscapes of the Far North and Charlevoix and influenced the painting of an entire generation.

François-Xavier Cimon inherited this house near Rivière du Gouffre in the early 20th century. Portrait painter Frederick Porter Vinton, a friend of the Cimon family, opened a painting studio next door. Visitors to the studio included Clarence Gagnon, A.Y. Jackson, Frank Johnston, Marc-Aurèle Fortin and Arthur Lismer, among others, whose works are exhibited in many art museums.
